ROVER
ROVER is a circular design studio from Aalst that inventories waste streams from local industries and transforms them into furniture collections. The design process doesn't start with an idea, but with existing materials. Steel frames, wooden slatted frames, sheet metal scraps, pipes, and other industrial waste are given a second life.
This results in timeless collections: the Latto Lamp collection made from old slatted frames, and the Scrap Chair and Scrap Table from scrap metal washers and reinforced concrete. ROVER demonstrates how circular design can be a viable alternative and tangibly extends the life cycle of local industrial waste streams.

This lamp is made from discarded slatted bed bases from Kringwinkel Stroom and Sleeplife. The slats were carefully dismantled, treated, and assembled. The frame is made from leftover plywood from Megaton Ninove. The lamps show scars and imperfections from the materials' previous lives.

This chair is made from scrap plates from Haemers NV, a manufacturer of pressed washers. The frames are made from rebar scrap from Megaton, part of the Willy Naessens Group. The chairs are stackable.
